For savvy crypto people, the idea that you choose a network, save your wallet in a file, then create or restore whichever keys you want, is all perfectly reasonable. To new users, the difference between a wallet versus a key, and between generating and linking a key versus being assigned a key from on high, are some of the universe's greatest mysteries, so that the early steps of using GajuDesk are a great trial, sometimes involving multiple keys being created, or even multiple reinstalls of the whole program.

A wizard sounds like a lot of work to me, but @zxq9 already volunteered, so here is a git issue for it.

Ideally a wizard would offer multiple paths:

  • I don't have a key, I would like to generate one
  • I have a single key, I would like to recover it
  • I know how keys work, just give me an empty mainnet wallet
  • I know how wallets and networks work, just give me an empty desktop? Or maybe stick the network selection in the "I know how keys work" category, under some advanced dropdown.

Further at the end of the "I don't have a key" path there could be a "Have you bought a mining package that needs to be attached to your account? [yes] [no] [I love spending money, what is a mining package?]" option, that potentially leads to a super hand-holding GRIDS interaction, just because the typical user will already feel mentally drained by having a new icon appear on their desktop at all, and by this stage will just want the mining to work.

This last optional mining/GRIDS section may lead to users thinking that they need to go through the wizard again next time they buy a package, so we might want to add a dialogue for that too, "Do you already have a key that you've registered a mining package with? [yes] [no]" that just links to some gajumining.com "How to log in" guide
